Job Description:
The Geotechnical Drill Helper will assist the lead driller with all aspects of the drilling process, including equipment setup, sample collection, and maintaining a safe work environment. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals looking to learn the trade and grow within the geotechnical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Driller with the operation of geotechnical drilling rigs and equipment.

• Help with site preparation, including setting up safety barriers and ensuring the work area is organized.

• Load, unload, and transport drilling equipment and materials to and from the worksite.

• Assist in collecting and labeling soil, rock, and groundwater samples for geotechnical analysis.

• Perform general labor tasks such as handling tools, shoveling, and cleaning up the job site.

• Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are in good working condition.

• Follow all safety protocols and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Communicate effectively with the Driller and other team members on-site.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Driller or supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in construction, drilling, or related field preferred but not required.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Team player with good communication skills.

• Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures closely.
